Student Council

Student council is a great way for students to take on a leadership role at Bromwell. It is made up of four officers elected from the 4th and 5th grades and two class reps from each of the 3rd through 5th grade classes, for a total of 16 members. Elections are held each November, and 3-5th graders vote. Candidates speak to the voters, and students vote on a secret ballot that is counted by teachers. Candidates who are not elected as officers then have the chance to run for a class representative position.

The student council meets twice a month on the second and 4th Tuesdays in the library during the student lunch period. Student council is supervised by teacher/librarian Allan Cutler. He helps them take on a variety of issues and projects, including school Spirit Days, the school store, the school dance at the end of the year, recycling at Bromwell, issues student’s bring up, supporting the Penny Harvest campaign, and other student philanthropy efforts.

The Bromwell Student Council has made some great changes and improvements at our school.
