Grade 4 Supply List

suppliesf:

3 boxes of tissue

1 roll of paper towels

1 bottle of hand soap

1 small plastic pencil box

Scissors

Ruler (with English & Metric markings, please!)

1 pencil sharpener (by hand, not the noisy electric kind!)

Glue bottle (small)

1 roll of clear tape

1 personal-size dry erase board

1 wide-lined spiral notebook

1 black & white Mead-style Composition Book (at Office Depot or Office Max or such)

24-pack #2 pencils with erasers -- sharpened, please!

1 erasable pen

1 highlighting marker -- preferably blue, green, or pink, but not yellow, because sometimes they are too hard for us to see!

24-pack colored pencils -- no sets of colored markers, please! We especially dislike permanent markers!

1 packet of 3-hole wide-lined paper

And, finally...

10 pocketed paper folders with 3-ring prongs -- now, this is a bit complicated. Many parents make mistakes buying these, so we want to try and be clear about what we're asking for. These are thin paper folders, usually colored brightly, that have one pocket on the inside front cover and one on the inside back cover. They also have a fastener with 3-hole metal prongs in the middle. They usually cost less than a dollar each.

At Office Depot, these folders are called Twin Pocket Portfolios with Fasteners, and at Office Max they are called Avery 2-Pocket Portfolios with Fasteners. Here are some pictures to help you:

Okay? Now here is how those folders should be labeled: Math, Writing, Reading, Science, Social Studies, and Take Home. The others will be labeled as we go along through the year.

You should put your name on the following supplies:
Pencil box, notebooks, folders, dry-erase board, backpack, lunchbox, coat, hat, gloves

You may want to put your name or at least your initials on items like these:
Scissors, ruler, highlighter, colored pencils

All other items shouldn't be labeled, as they may be shared in the classroom.

P.S. Please, no "Trapper Keepers" (those are the big, huge, giant notebooks that hardly even fit inside a desk or backpack, anyway!)

Parents, we really appreciate you for buying these important items for your student. We may request other specific materials once school gets underway, but probably not. This list pretty much covers everything. We may, however, ask for additional or replacement items such as tissues or paper towels as the year goes on. Thank you again!
