Bromwell at the Shakespeare Festival Bromwell happily participates in the DPS Shakespeare Festival almost every year. The Festival is usually scheduled to take place in early May at the DCPA complex. At this time, we don't have the dates for the next festival, and we haven't decided on scenes yet, either. We haven't made any plans at all, to be honest! Once teachers commit and select scenes and develop scripts, that information will be posted here and in our school bulletin. I love the Shakespeare Festival, and usually I have all my students participate as a classroom literacy activity. Mr. Cutler and Ms. Kraybill have also coached student groups to participate in the festival, and participation has also been offered through our PTSA Enrichment groups after school.
Several years ago, we were lucky enough to get some press in one of the big daily newspapers. One of our young actors was interviewed, and these two pictures of Bromwell students were also published... as you can see, below!
 
I have also enjoyed creating scenes for the festival that are a little out of the ordinary. I guess they might be called mood pieces, or mash-ups, or even post-modern reinterpretive Shakespeare scenes. Anyway, here are three:
