The Bromwell Scrapbook 1922 - 1950![]()
Only a few artifacts have survived from this time in our school's history, and very few photographs. What were our community's experiences during the Roaring Twenties, the Depression, and World War Two? It may be that further research will uncover more information, and more artifacts to post on this page. We hope so!
Above: A drawing of a house tumbling into the Cherry Creek during the flood of 1933, from a newspaper story. You can read the full account by going here. Below: a photograph of the Ellsworth-Bromwell Soccer Team of 1941. Ellsworth School was located at.... Both items are from Chuck Woehl's scrapbook.

In 1976 a reunion was held at Bromwell for all graduates from pre-1940 Bromwell classes. Above are the women who attended, and below are the men. Both groups are seated in front of the "old building" which was demolished shortly after the reunion.

We are fortunate that someone took the time to record the names of all the attendees in these two pictures. Click on "Bromwell Reunion 1976" for these names, along with larger images of the two photographs. Above: two pages from the journal of the Bromwell P.T.A., in the handwriting of Secretary Dorothy M. Names. This record of P.T.A. meetings begins in January 1941 and ends in 1959.
