The Bromwell Scrapbook 1950 - 1955![]() We have a lot of photographs from the Fifties. At that time, large photo albums were compiled every year, with photographs of each classroom. One entire album is posted here, along with some photographs clipped from newspapers of the time.

Above: this clipping from the Rocky Mountain News was accompanied by the following text: "Educational television for most of Denver may be a fund-raising campaign away, but not for fifth-grade youngsters at Bromwell School, E. Fourth ave. and Columbine st. They wrote a television script dealing with colonial history and will stage it. Mrs. Betty Modesitt, left, teacher of the group, adjusts a hat for Christine Clark of 245 Columbine st., who plays George Washington; while Billy Bayliss of 421 Detroit st., right, an Indian, looks on. The schools are planning a fund-raising campaign to operate their new educational television channel."
The photograph below appeared in The Denver Post on Thursday, May 6th, 1954. The photo was headlined "Kids Paper Drive Aids Educational TV" and reported that "Students at the Browmell elementary school, E. 4th Ave. and Columbine St. Wednesday collected scrap paper to raise money to support KRMA-TV, the Channel 6 educational television station. The kids brought paper to the school from their homes. Pictured adding their donations to the ones on the pile are (left to right)Barry Goldstein, 8, of 658 Steele St.; Kristina Holm, 8, of 644 St. Paul St,; Don Teraski, 12, of 370 Steele St., and Eleanor Lytle, 11, of 333 Cook St."
