The Student Council got to deliver the clothes we collected as a community and volunteer with Clothes for Kids - Denver for the afternoon!
🎹 Specials Spotlight - Music 🎹
ECE spent their week of music learning about dynamics by playing on a variety of drums and creating rain sounds.
Kindergarten has been working on a few projects in the music room: creating and recording a song that will be sent out in the next week, exploring musical instruments and adding sounds and songs to scenes from stories, and listening and moving to Saint-Saens “Carnival of the Animals.”
First Grade is finishing up a unit on Music and Emotions where they are composing a song in AB form, using notation and improvisation.
Second Grade had an incredible field trip to the Newman Center where we heard Freedom songs from Tatiana, Cumbia from Gregorio, and Gamelan from Ade!
Third and Fourth have been perfecting the C, Am, F, and G chords on ukulele. They’ve also been moving their bodies to a variety of folk dances.
Fifth Grade are becoming experts at the “Goodbye Song” on ukulele and have started their Hip-Hop Unit. During this unit, students are creating a beat using Groove Pizza and writing a song that includes verses with a rhyme scheme and a hook.

🐾 GOTR Pet Supply Drive - Through 5/15 🐾
As part of their Community Impact Project, Bromwell’s Girls on the Run team has chosen to support stray animals at True Companion Animal Rescue by collecting pet supplies and donations for animals in need.
Families are invited to help by donating items such as pet food, new or used blankets/beds, toys, leashes, and bowls. Collection dates are May 7–15, with donations accepted in the front lobby at Bromwell.

It’s the final volunteer ask of the school year — we promise! Mr. Edwards needs a few more helping hands for Field Day to help run stations and keep the fun moving.
Volunteers will support classic Field Day activities like Tug O’ War, Water Balloons/Sack Race, Track & Field, Cup-to-Cup Relay, Sponge Relay, Crab Soccer, Obstacle Course, Leaky Boat, and Popcorn.
