We’re excited to begin a new school year!

Our first Bromwell Bulletin includes important information to help your family feel prepared for the first day of school. Keep an eye out for a message from Principal Urbanowski coming later this week in her monthly Principal Post. 

📣 Back-to-School Information

School Hours

8:15 a.m.–3:15 p.m.

Drop-Off and Pick-Up

Families may use three locations for drop-off and pick-up. Please review this map for details.

Drop-Off

Students may be dropped off beginning at 8:05 a.m.

Students arriving by foot or bike may enter through the Alley Gate or Garden Gate.

Driving drop-offs may use the Kiss & Go lane until 8:15 a.m.

Pick-Up

Students leaving by foot or bike may be picked up at the Alley Gate or Garden Gate.

Driving pick-ups may use the Kiss & Go lane until 3:25 p.m.

Please let your child’s teacher know if your child will be picked up through Kiss & Go.

Parking Reminders

Please do not park in:

• The bus zone in front of the school

• The school parking lots in front of the building or in the alley

• Parking lots belonging to neighboring businesses

Every school parking space is assigned to a staff member. Neighboring businesses have private lots and may tow unauthorized vehicles.

Discovery Link

Families using before- or after-school care may drop off and pick up through the blue door just west of the school’s main entrance.

Bromwell Calendar

Bromwell has four additional no-school Data Dig Days that are not included on the standard DPS calendar.

Free Breakfast

Free breakfast is available from 8:05–8:15 a.m.

Students should enter through the cafeteria door on the blacktop. The cafeteria will close promptly at 8:15 a.m. so staff can begin preparing lunch.

Water Bottles and Snacks

Please send your child with a full water bottle and a snack every day to help keep their body energized and their mind ready to learn.

School Lunch

Students may bring lunch from home or enjoy a free school lunch.

Homeroom Assignments

Homeroom assignments will be available by 4pm on August 19th, 2026 in the Parent Portal.

Homeroom teachers will then share a welcome letter about what students and families can expect and look forward to this year.

Contacting the School

Staff will begin returning to the building on August 17. Emails and phone calls will be returned beginning that week.

Kindergarten Playground Update

The playground project is projected to be completed by August 21—just in time for the first day of school!

New DPS Policy on Personal Communication Devices

Beginning with the 2026–27 school year, Denver Public Schools will require all students in all grades to keep personal communication devices turned off and stored during the school day. This includes cellphones, smart watches, wireless earbuds and other personally owned electronic devices.

The policy applies throughout the entire school day, including class time, passing periods, lunch and restroom breaks. Limited exceptions will be made for students with approved educational, health or language-support plans.

Families will still be able to communicate with students through the school office. During an emergency, families should rely on official school and district communications rather than contacting students directly.

Did You Know? From Movie Night and the Fun Run to Multicultural Celebration Night, the Auction, Let’s Build Bromwell and staff appreciation, the PTA helps bring nearly 50 events, programs and community-building efforts to life each year. We will share some specific needs here and hope you will consider joining us!

Room Parents — Help support your child’s classroom by sharing PTA updates, coordinating class needs and helping build connections among families throughout the year. 

Movie Night Co-Chair — Partner with the PTA Board and Jessa Schlichter to help plan Movie Night on October 16.

Let’s Build Bromwell Support Team — Help with small behind-the-scenes tasks during the late September–early October campaign.

Photographers — Help us capture Bromwell events throughout the year. We are especially looking for someone with a camera drone for an event on September 18 or 21.
