Thursday, September 17 — Little Bird Shop Out

4:30–6:30 p.m. | 2624 E. Louisiana Ave.

Shop for a cause at Little Bird, a children’s boutique in the Cory-Merrill neighborhood serving newborns through age 14. Enjoy snacks, drinks and shopping, and 15% of your purchase will be donated back to Bromwell. Just mention Bromwell at checkout! Flyer HERE.

NEW DATE: Tuesday, September 22 — Wear Blue or Orange!

All Day | Bromwell

Students should wear any shade of blue or orange shirt to school for a very fun all-school project! White is a great backup option. Shirts can have any logo or design — it does not need to be a Bromwell shirt.

For Grades 3–5 | Book Orders Open to All Families

We’re excited to welcome Terri Libenson, bestselling author and illustrator of the Emmie & Friends series, to Bromwell! Students in 3rd–5th grade will hear about her writing and illustrating process, learn how she brings her stories and characters to life, and have the opportunity to ask questions.

Saturday, October 3 — Bromwell Man Party

The Bromwell Man Party is back! Enjoy an afternoon of grilled and smoked meats, beers, games and time with your favorite Bromwell Papa Bears. Saturday, October 10 — Bromwell Pickleball Night

5:30 p.m. | Gates Tennis Center

LUNCH & RECESS VOLUNTEERS WELCOME!

We would love extra hands during lunch and recess! If you have time to help, please sign in at the front desk, grab an orange volunteer vest and stay for as much of the lunch/recess block as you’re able. Once you arrive, introduce yourself to the staff members on duty and they’ll let you know where help is most needed.

Lunch & Recess Schedule:

ECE — Lunch: 11:20–11:40 a.m. | Recess: 11:40 a.m.–12:10 p.m.

Kinder — Lunch: 11:20–11:40 a.m. | Recess: 11:40 a.m.–12:05 p.m.

1st Grade — Lunch: 11:40 a.m.–12:00 p.m. | Recess: 12:00–12:25 p.m.

2nd Grade — Lunch: 11:45 a.m.–12:05 p.m. | Recess: 12:05–12:30 p.m.

3rd & 4th Grade — Lunch: 12:05–12:25 p.m. | Recess: 12:25–12:50 p.m.

5th Grade — Lunch: 12:25–12:45 p.m. | Recess: 12:45–1:10 p.m.

No need to commit to the entire block — come when you can and stay as long as you’re able!

ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL REMINDERS

Arrival: As a reminder, between 8:05-8:20am, please use either Garden Gate or Kiss and Go for drop-off. The main office is not an option for drop-off until after the late bell at 8:20am.

Early Pick-up: early pick-up will end at 2:30pm. If you need to pick-up your student early, it must be by 2:30pm or you will need to wait until dismissal at 3:15pm.

DPS Community Engagement Sessions: Enrollment Boundaries & Zones

DPS is hosting community engagement sessions across the district in September to hear what families value about their school and student experience as it reviews enrollment boundaries and zones. Food and childcare will be provided at all sessions.

BESS Parent Screening — Due October 30

Bromwell uses the BESS (Behavioral and Emotional Screening System) to help understand how students are doing socially, emotionally and behaviorally at school.

All ECE–5 families are encouraged to complete the parent rating form by October 30. Teachers will also complete a rating for each student after they have known students for at least 30 days. Students in grades 3–5 will complete a short self-rating at school unless they have been opted out.

You will need your student’s DPS ID number and date of birth.

*Kindergarten families: Due to an issue with the online Kinder form, your child will bring home a paper form to complete and return to school.

HEARING, VISON & DENTAL SCREENING

Bromwell will participate in the annual DPS Hearing, Vision and Dental Screening on September 14, 15 and 16. If you would like your child to participate, no action is needed. If you do not want your child to participate, please complete the Screening Opt-Out Form HERE.

DISMISSAL AND PICK UP REMINDER

As a reminder, dismissal is at 3:15pm. Families that arrive after 3:25pm will be asked to sign- their student out. 3 late pick-ups a month will trigger a mandatory meeting with Principal Urbanowski and a representative from the attendance team. Thank you for your support in ensuring smooth dismissal procedures.
