  • Registration will not be complete without payment of the class(es) and the $6.00 Bromwell Enrichment fee/ per child.
  • All Classes are 3:15 to 4:15 unless otherwise noted.
  • All Classes are subject to minimum and maximum enrollment – If a class does not meet the minimum and is cancelled I will contact you.
  • Please be aware of the age/grade restrictions. It is listed in the class description.
  • This session we will offer two enrichment classes to ECE students.
  • If we do not have school, then we do not have enrichment.

Sticky Fingers Cooking

Let your child release their inner chef! Students will prepare and eat healthy, globally-inspired recipes all while loving learning to cook in a fun, engaging and irresistibly tasty way that will turn even the pickiest eaters into avid food explorers! Our fun, inspiring and creative chef instructors mix together a sense of engagement and excitement as they combine the love of cooking and fun nutritional facts (even a few bad jokes!), safe cooking skills and hygiene, jokes, geography, math skills, food culture and history to help instill a lifetime love of delicious, healthy family cooking.

Your kids will have a blast every week discovering how easy and fun it is to cook (and gobble-up!) tasty, healthy, American classics and globally-inspired Sticky Fingers Cooking recipes! Sticky Fingers Cooking offers young chefs the chance to explore exciting tastes (all seasonal and as local as possible!), master culinary skills (that they can put to use in family kitchens!) and nourish their bodies and minds. We practice safe chopping, measuring and mixing skills, use a wide array of cooking utensils all while creating awesomely delicious recipes from the freshest ingredients. Full recipes will be created each class with our AWESOME master chef Sticky Fingers Cooking instructors. Basketball
3rd – 5th grade

Students will learn the fundamentals of basketball including: Exercising, Drills, and Competing in games. The kids will be put onto teams, which they will stay on, to play on during the “season” (Each 9 week session). The kids will need to bring shorts, t-shirt, shoes, and any other basketball gear they want/need to wear.

Sound Formation Rhythm and Drums
K – 5th grade

Cartooning and Drawing
K – 5th grade

This is a fun and creative class for all those who like to draw and color. Class will focus on methods for creating different characters, expressions, movement, themes, landscapes and use of color. Children will enjoy learning effective techniques for creating their own pictures and / or telling stories through images. Students will also choose one or two of their favorite drawings that they have done during the session to have reproduced as postcards. All ages may come as long as they are interested in drawing and using their imagination!

Paper, pencils, oil pastels, and color pencils are provided.

Lisa Haughom has been a professional greeting card artist and a children’s book illustrator for the past 20 years. She has illustrated for companies such as Barnes and Noble and Wikki Stix. She also creates and illustrates her own books for language acquisition.


Skatestart Skateboarding
K – 5th grade

The second session of Skatestart skateboarding we’ll focus on more tricks and using more obstacles. We’ll have indoor activities as well as a “snowboard” day. Let’s get rolling!!!


Girls on The Run – This class runs Mondays and Wednesdays. You only register for this on Mondays.
Girls 3rd – 5th grade only

Over a period of about 10 weeks, girls in the 3rd through 5th grade will participate in an after-school program like no other.

This class runs on Mondays and Wednesdays. Throughout the season, the girls make new friends, build their confidence and celebrate all that makes them unique. The Girls on the Run lessons encourage positive emotional, social, mental and physical development. At the end of the season, the girls participate in a 5K run! Completing the 5K gives the girls a tangible understanding of the confidence that comes through accomplishment, as well as a framework for setting and achieving life goals. Crossing the finish line is a defining moment when the girls realize that even the seemingly impossible IS possible! Coached by Ms. Halt, Ms. Schultz, Mrs. Ray, and Nurse Brooke.

ARTS + MINDS- Movement and Creative Arts
K – 2nd grade only

Arts & Minds Spring Enrichment Session is for students at Bromwell Elementary Grades K – 2. Each class, your kids will do Movement AND Enhance their Fine Motor Skills through Creative Arts. This specialized class for our school is lead by Occupational Therapist, Jill Loftus, Honest Occupational Therapy

Among the many physical benefits of moving each day. Though combining Creative Arts, children can tap into their expressive selves, and develop social-emotional awareness. In addition, this class will have a strong focus on upper body, arm and hand strengthening that supports his fine motor skill development and/or handwriting skills.

This Spring, Arts & Minds will explore elements in the world around us. We’ll be exploring how we can impact the environment, our land and water, and other people through creative practices.

Each session, we create a group project to “Give Back” to our Community. The children will guide this process and decide to whom we “Give Back.” Stay tuned for Family Engagement Opportunities throughout the Session. The last class will end in a dedication of our “Give Back” project, and Showcase of our Works.

TUESDAY CLASSES

Fun and Easy to Learn Spanish
K – 5th grade

Learn Spanish through songs, games and interactive activities. Students from K – 5th grade may attend. Class reviews themes such as; clothing, body parts, numbers, weather, colors, foods, professions, sports, and basic conversation skills (introductions, nationality, age, etc.). Children learning at an early age will find it much easier to pick up again later in secondary schools. Snacks will also be provided and incorporated into the lessons. New subjects are added for continuing students.

Lisa Haughom is a native French speaker but also minored in Spanish and has taught French and Spanish to children and adults for over 20 years. She also writes and illustrates foreign language books for language acquisition and has done books for the Spanish program with Denver Public Schools and Ana Novas.

Mollie’s Multi-Media Art
K – 5th grade

This class will give your child the confidence to create all kinds of wonderful projects. Every project will use different media. We’ll work with water colors, chalk pastels, oil pastels, colored pencils, markers, sequins and glitter. We’ll make lots of three-dimensional art working with different kinds of paper, silk, felt material and tissue paper. The atmosphere is comfortable and non-competitive so children can experience the joy of their unique artistic expression.

Sports and Fitness
3rd – 5th grade

Join Coach Charlie as he provides instruction and encouragement in a positive environment where all kids get a chance to play, improve their athletic skills, and boost their confidence. Charlie has been working with kids for 20+ years through summer camps, sports camps, and coaching positions. This year will celebrate Charlie’s 10th year at Bromwell Elementary. He encourages kids to participate in physical activity every day in order to maintain a lifetime of health and fitness.

The Sports-Fitness-Wellness Class focuses on improving coordination and agility, good sportsmanship, the importance of healthy eating, and skills for multiple sports including soccer, basketball, football, hockey, and other fun, team sports.

Charlie Schubert possesses a B.S. in Physical Education/Health. He was a Wide Receiver and Return Specialist at Plymouth State University (’96-’99). Once Charlie completed his playing career at PSU, he was hired as the wide receiver coach for the 2000 football season. He is CPR and First Aid Certified and an Exercise Specialist at Matrix Fitness and Spa. Charlie is also a Kettlebell Athletics Coach, a TRX Suspension Training Coach, and an American Sports and Fitness Association Cycling Instructor.


Beginning and Intermediate Knitting
2nd – 5th grade

Children will learn to knit and purl. Beginning projects include headbands, scarves, small purses. For more advanced knitters, projects will include cowls and sweaters.


Math Mind Benders
4th and 5th grade

Using Math Olympiads and other stimulating curriculum, we will tackle difficult problems and teasers to develop our critical thinking, flexible thinking and creativity. This class is taught by our own Ms. Pickle.


Little Fencers
1st – 3rd grade

Denver Fencing Center is excited to offer our Little Fencers class to the students of Bromwell. Participants will have the opportunity to learn what it takes to become a Jedi, a pirate, or a musketeer through an introduction to the modern sport of fencing. Students will learn the fundamentals of fencing in a safe and fun environment. The instructor will provide lightweight practice equipment, which is specially made for young children first learning the sport. Come join us for this exciting form of physical and mental exercise!


Creative Clay Class with Mrs. Duffy

This class runs from 3:15 to 4:00.

Students will explore hand building in clay. Students will make pinch pots, little animals, picture frames and other fun projects. Some projects will be glaze only from bisque-ware (think like Color-me-mine) and other projects will be made from clay, fired then glazed again by students. The cost includes materials and a light snack.


Rainbow Loom Club
1st – 3rd Grade

Join Mrs. Stevenson and Ms. Beski for a club all about rainbow looming! Each week we will learn a new design and new techniques to create some awesome creations. Each child will be provided with a loom, a variety of rubber band colors, and fun accessories such as charms and keychain hooks. Every week your child will bring home a new creation they have made. WEDNESDAY CLASSES

Radiant Beginnings Yoga
K – 5th grade

Class description: Our program is structured to develop a youth’s awareness of breath, body, and mind through yoga and mindfulness. Our unique approach is fun, educational and accessible to all personalities and learning styles. FUN AND EASY TO LEARN FRENCH

Learn French through songs, games and interactive activities. Students

from K-5th grade may attend. Class reviews basic themes as listed above and more such as body parts, professions, sports, musical instruments, culture, and basic conversation skills (introductions, nationality, age, etc.). French is spoken in 53 countries around the world including our neighbors, Canada where French is one of the national languages. Children learning at an early age will find it much easier to pick up again later in secondary schools and will retain a better accent.

Taekwondo by Tiger Kim’s Academy

Finally a format that keeps the FUN of golf, but gets rid of the frustration. Pitch and Putt Golf has all the kids chirping like birdies! Our program, powered by SNAG Golf Equipment, is a safe and encouraging game that introduces new players to the joy of golf. MindDance Coding

Kids learn to code in the MindDance Scratch Lab by creating their own video games, animated stories, and interactive art. They build their projects in Scratch, an MIT-developed computer programming language for children. Our teachers provide inspiration and support, as students experiment, tinker, create, and share.
