• After September 5th you will be charged a $10.00 late registration fee.
• Registration will not be complete without payment of the classes and the $6.00 Bromwell Enrichment fee/ per child.

• All Classes are subject to minimum and maximum. If a class does not meet the minimum and is cancelled I will contact you.
• Please be aware of the age/grade restrictions. It is listed in the class description.
• If we do not have school then we do NOT have enrichment class.
• At this time we do not have enrichment for ECE. We want to give them time to adjust to their long day. They will have a class available to them next session.

Sticky Fingers Cooking Presents After-School Cooking Classes THYME to TURNIP the BEET on what KIDS EAT

Let your child release their inner chef! Students will prepare and eat healthy, globally-inspired recipes all while learning to cook in a fun, engaging and real-world way! Our Chefs will reinforce kitchen skills associated with our weekly recipes and emphasize each area of cooking–terminology, ingredients and fun nutrition facts (even a few bad jokes!) We will practice measurements, use a wide array of cooking utensils all while preparing the freshest ingredients. Full recipes will be created each class with our AWESOME master chef Sticky Fingers Cooking instructors.

Basketball

Students will learn the fundamentals of basketball including: Exercising, Drills, and Competing in games. The kids will be put onto teams, which they will stay on, to play on during the “season” (Each 9 week session). The kids will need to bring shorts, t-shirt, shoes, and any other basketball gear they want/need to wear.

Rhythm and Drums

Cartooning and Drawing

This is a fun and creative class for all those who like to draw and color. Class will focus on methods for creating different characters, expressions, movement, themes, landscapes and use of color. Children will enjoy learning effective techniques for creating their own pictures and / or telling stories through images. Students will also choose one or two of their favorite drawings that they have done during the session to have reproduced as postcards. All ages may come as long as they are interested in drawing and using their imagination!

Paper, pencils, oil pastels, and color pencils are provided.

Lisa Haughom has been a professional greeting card artist and a children’s book illustrator for the past 20 years. She has illustrated for companies such as Barnes and Noble and Wikki Stix. Session 1 is all about having fun, making new friends, riding our new ramps, and learning our “rad” core values (respect, attitude, determination). This class is for all ages and skill levels. TUESDAY CLASSES

Fun and Easy to Learn Spanish
K – 5th

Learn Spanish through songs, games and interactive activities. Students from K – 5th grade may attend. Class reviews themes such as; clothing, body parts, numbers, weather, colors, foods, professions, sports, and basic conversation skills (introductions, nationality, age, etc.). Children learning at an early age will find it much easier to pick up again later in secondary schools. Snacks will also be provided and incorporated into the lessons. New subjects are added for continuing students.

Lisa Haughom is a native French speaker but also minored in Spanish and has taught French and Spanish to children and adults for over 20 years. She also writes and illustrates foreign language books for language acquisition and has done books for the Spanish program with Denver Public Schools and Ana Novas.

Mollie’s Multi-Media Art

This class will give your child the confidence to create all kinds of wonderful projects. Every project will use different media. We’ll work with water colors, chalk pastels, oil pastels, colored pencils, markers, sequins and glitter. We’ll make lots of three-dimensional art working with different kinds of paper, silk, felt material and tissue paper. The atmosphere is comfortable and non-competitive so children can experience the joy of their unique artistic expression.

Sports and Fitness
3rd – 5th grade

Join Coach Charlie as he provides instruction and encouragement in a positive environment where all kids get a chance to play, improve their athletic skills, and boost their confidence. Charlie has been working with kids for 20+ years through summer camps, sports camps, and coaching positions. This year will celebrate Charlie’s 10th year at Bromwell Elementary. He encourages kids to participate in physical activity every day in order to maintain a lifetime of health and fitness.

The Sports-Fitness-Wellness Class focuses on improving coordination and agility, good sportsmanship, the importance of healthy eating, and skills for multiple sports including soccer, basketball, football, hockey, and other fun, team sports.

Charlie Schubert possesses a B.S. in Physical Education/Health. He was a Wide Receiver and Return Specialist at Plymouth State University (’96-’99). Once Charlie completed his playing career at PSU, he was hired as the wide receiver coach for the 2000 football season. He is CPR and First Aid Certified and an Exercise Specialist at Matrix Fitness and Spa. Charlie is also a Kettlebell Athletics Coach, a TRX Suspension Training Coach, and an American Sports and Fitness Association Cycling Instructor.


Little Fencers
1st – 3rd grade

Denver Fencing Center is excited to offer our Little Fencers class to the students of Bromwell. Participants will have the opportunity to learn what it takes to become a Jedi, a pirate, or a musketeer through an introduction to the modern sport of fencing. Students will learn the fundamentals of fencing in a safe and fun environment. The instructor will provide lightweight practice equipment, which is specially made for young children first learning the sport. Come join us for this exciting form of physical and mental exercise!


Beginning and Intermediate Knitting
2nd – 5th grade

Children will learn to knit and purl. Beginning projects include headbands, scarves, small purses. For more advanced knitters, projects will include cowls and sweaters.


WEDNESDAY CLASSES

Radiant Beginnings Yoga

Class description: Our program is structured to develop a youth’s awareness of breath, body, and mind through yoga and mindfulness. Our unique approach is fun, educational and accessible to all personalities and learning styles. All classes are interactive and bring community, mindful movement, brain games, and breath together to give youth tools for stress management in class and beyond. Our data driven curriculum emphasizes social-emotional learning, leadership, choice, reflection and self-regulation skills. from K-5th grade may attend. Class reviews basic themes as listed above and more such as body parts, professions, sports, musical instruments, culture, and basic conversation skills (introductions, nationality, age, etc.). French is spoken in 53 countries around the world including our neighbors, Canada where French is one of the national languages. Children learning at an early age will find it much easier to pick up again later in secondary schools and will retain a better accent.

Taekwondo by Tiger Kim’s Academy

Drone Ed
3rd – 5th grade

Kids are the future, right? Well, so are drones! The FAA estimates over 4 million drones will be registered in the U.S. by the year 2020. We want our youth to be ahead of the game with the safety, fundamentals, and awareness of drone technology. So, let’s have fun this fall and learn to fly drones responsibly! Each class teaches a different drone lesson, which is then practiced by the students on their drone.

Drone Ed founders have combined their passions of drones, teaching children, and helping others into an impactful model for the Bromwell Elementary community. Our instructors have many years of experience with teaching, training, and coaching children in various fields.

Drone Ed implements a rigorous hiring process to ensure the best possible care and learning experience for our students! All instructors must pass a CBI and FBI fingerprint background check as well as obtain an FAA Remote Pilot certification and Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid certification.

**We will provide the following materials during each class: drone, Drone Ed workbook, extra set of propellers, extra drone batteries, and safety glasses.


Chess Wizards
K – 5th grade

A highly interactive instructional chess program open to both beginning and advanced chess players. Students will engage with the chess class through free play, exciting lessons (taught by our own Chess Wizards), trivia, and variation group games. Students will accrue points throughout and will be awarded a Chess Wizards trophy at the end of the session.


Volleyball

This volleyball team is coached by Ms. Halt and will help your child become more confident with their passing, setting, hitting and serving skills. We will also spend time on teamwork, strategy and of course have some fun! A team t-shirt is also included with the price.


Cursive Handwriting
2nd – 4th grade

Does your child have a desire and excitement to learn cursive? Ms. Beski and Mrs. Stevenson think that cursive handwriting is a helpful life skill to learn and want to teach this skill in a fun and engaging way! This handwriting enrichment course will focus on letter formation, body and spatial awareness, and coordination of fine motor skills. We will learn about and practice how to form cursive letters correctly. We will provide different engaging activities to get your child excited about cursive! Snacks included.


Arts and Minds: Movement and Creative Arts

Arts & Minds Fall Enrichment Session is for students of all grades and abilities. Each class, your kids will do Movement(Dance, Fitness, Yoga) AND Creative Arts ( drama, art, creative writing, sensory play). Among the many physical benefits of moving each day. Though combining Creative Arts, children can tap into their expressive selves, and develop social-emotional awareness.

This Fall, Arts & Minds will take a tour around the Globe. We’ll be exploring multi-cultural themes through creative practices, and learning dances from around the world. Each session, we create a group project to “Give Back” to our Community. The children will guide this process and decide to whom we “Give Back.” Stay tuned for Family Engagement Opportunities throughout the Session. The last class will end in a dedication of our “Give Back” project, and Showcase of our Works.

The Craft Club

Bluff Lake Nature Explorers

MindDance Coding

Kids learn to code in the MindDance Scratch Lab by creating their own video games, animated stories, and interactive art. Tennis
