Luke’s Basketball Skills and Play Enrichment 1st-5th
Come and improve your skills, challenge yourself and your friends by having fun playing BB with Luke. All levels of players in grades 1 thru 5 are welcomed. Luke Nuszer (Ms. keys’ son) is a former Bromwell eagle and currently attending Metro State. Mix and Measure and Knife Skills, Oh My!
Let your child release their inner chef! Sticky Fingers Cooking offers young chefs the chance to explore exciting tastes (all seasonal and as local as possible!), master culinary skills (that they can put to use in family kitchens!) and nourish their bodies and minds. Our After School Enrichment classes each feature a healthy recipe, emphasize safety and skill building, and encourage environmental awareness in an engaging way.
We provide all of the tools, ingredients and instruction needed to cook up a fun, delicious and healthy (sshh!) snack each week. Our on-line recipe collection is included as well for each chef for future family cooking fun!
We are proud to announce that Colorado celebrated chefs will be co-writing fun new recipes for Sticky Fingers Cooking!
All of our Sticky Fingers trained cooking instructors, share lifetime love of cooking and a passion for cooking with kids! We have Montessori school teachers, preschool and primary school teachers, culinary school teachers, summer camp directors, catering chefs and even graduates from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris on our talented team of cooking instructors. MOVIE MAKING WITH MS. KRAYBILL 3rd-5th only Bromwell’s third grade teacher
In this exciting class we write, cast, film, edit, and produce a student film. This is a “kid produced activity”! If you like going to the movies and think you’d like to be a star, a cinematographer, , a director, a film editor, a make-up artist, or a costume designer, then sign up. Adventures In Green Screen 2nd-5th only
Climb Mount Everest, swim the depths of the ocean, or battle dinosaurs! Using a green screen and special photo editing techniques, you will venture into real or imaginary locations and film the trip to share with friends. Don’t stay at home – jump into a green screen and find your- self some fun!
Cartooning and Drawing Class
Come draw, color and create!
This is a fun and creative class for all those who like to draw and color. Class will focus on methods for creating different characters,expressions, movement, themes,landscapes and use of color. Children will enjoy learning effective techniques for creating their own pictures and I or telling stories through images. All ages may come as long as they are interested in drawing and using their imagination!
Paper, pencils and colors are provided including oil pastels,color pencils, watercolor pencils and markers.
Lisa Haughom has been a professional greeting card artist and a children’s book illustrator for the past 20 years. She has illustrated for companies such as Bames and Noble and Wikki Stix. MULTI MEDIA ART CLASS WITH MS. MOLLIE
This class will give your child the confidence to create all kinds of wonderful projects. Every project will use different media. We’ll work with water colors, chalk pastels, oil pastels, colored pencils, markers, sequins and glitter. We’ll make lots of three-dimensional art working with different kinds of paper, silk, felt material and tissue paper. The atmosphere is comfortable and non-competitive so children can experience the joy of their unique artistic expression.

Sports and Fitness with Coach Charlie
3rd- 5th grade 3:15 to 4:30
Boost skills, get fit, have fun! The class focuses on improving techniques and skills for a wide variety of sports through drills to improve coordination and agility, learning to stretch correctly, the importance of good nutrition, and learning overall good sportsmanship. Coach Charlie provides instruction and encouragement in a positive environment where all kids get a chance to play, improve their athletic skills and boost their confidence. Girls and Boys both are encouraged to attend! We will work on one sport a day. The first half of the class is focused on drills and fitness and the second half is the game! B.S. Physical Education/Health, Exercise Specialist Matrix Fitness and Spa, NCSF-Certified Personal Trainer, CPR and Fully Insured.
Charlie has been working with kids for 12+ years through summer camps, sports camps and coaching positions. He encourages kids to participate in physical activity daily for a lifetime of health and fitness.
CHALLENGE CLASS WITH MS. KRAYBILL 2nd-5th grade Bromwell’s third grade teacher
Do you like playing challenging games? Do you like to expand your mind with games like “Apples to Apples”, “SET”, “Box of Chocolates”, and “Rush Hour”. Do you like puzzles using Tangrams? Do you like to do origami?
If you said “yes” to any of these questions then this is the enrichment class for you! We play relaxing–but mind-challenging games Tuesdays from 3:15 to 4:15. Grades 2-5 may participate. Yoga for Kids 1st – 5th grade only
Mrs. Mckim invites all 1st -5th grade students to come and practice yoga after school on Tuesdays. This is an active class and students will practice poses through games, stories, and songs. Yoga has many benefits to offer children and can help to increase concentration, flexibility, and relax the mind. Come and join us! Please bring your own mat if you have one.

Tae Kwon Do
Tiger Kim’s Academy is Denver’s only WTF Taekwondo School. TKA opened in 1976 having Grandmaster Tiger Kim a 9th Dan Black belt Come from Korea just to teach taekwondo and spread the benefits of training to the United States in Denver, CO. Master Tiger Kim is a 7th Dan Black Belt with over 30 years of training and teaching the art of taekwondo. And working with Denver Public schools for over 11 years, Master Instructor certified by the World Taekwondo Federation, WTMA, USTMU, MAIA and AAU. His classes will teach “Olympic Taekwondo.” This martial art will allow students to become more focused, stronger, better coordinated, and grow in confidence and self-discipline.
Since Modern-day Taekwondo’s official birth, Taekwondo is an official Olympic sport, its development as a sport has been rapid. Over 75 million people practice Taekwondo in more than 200 countries, and in many areas of the Middle East, Africa and South America.

Kidz Tennis - K-3rd grade
Hey boys and girls, it’s time for you to experience the sport of a lifetime. This tennis class will emphasize basic athletic skills, eye-hand coordination, tennis ediquette/sportsmanship and fun. The program will use adaptive equipment to help kids learn to rally a ball over a net, play points and games.
Coach Rhona Kaczmarczyk and Bromwell mother will instruct the class.
She is a Certified Tennis professional with twenty years of experience, USPTA member, Certified High Performance Coach, past champion of both Denver City and State Open and Captain of USA National Team at 2005 World Championships.
An after school snack is provided. Rackets provided upon request.
Challenge Soccer
Challenger Sports are very excited to be working with Bromwell Elementary School this spring by brining one of their After Schools skills sessions to the school. Challenger Sports’ professional British Trainers provide players with the instruction and training necessary to help them develop as players and also help them love the game of soccer more. Each week the players will work on shooting drills, footwork and improving existing skills and techniques and learning new ones – all in the usual high energy fun learning environment that Challenger Sports have become known for!
Skatestart Skateboard Skills 6-12 years old
No Equipment is necessary – All equipment is provided!
Hey Bromwell students, come get awesome on a skateboard with Skatestart®! With Skatestarts awesome instruction and skateboard equipment, you’ll master the basics of starting out and learn sweet tricks like the ollie. This is great for those who have never tried skateboarding and want to give it a go and those who already rip and want to rip more!

Class reviews basic themes as listed above and more such as body parts, professions, sports,musical instruments,culture, and basic conversation skills (introductions,nationality, age,etc.). French is spoken in 53 countries around the world including our neighbors,Canada where French is one of the national languages. Children learning at an early age will find it much easier to pick up again later in secondary schools and will retain a better accent.

Science Matters
Science Names of Fame – Franklin, Bell, Edison, Galileo, daVinci. Travel back in time as we experiment with electricity, music, and art. We make our own electroscope, and telegraph. Bend light and color with a kaleidoscope. Make a flame burn under water (or seem to). Explore the color spectrum and make your own rainbow. Science fun from the pages to time.
Drumming
Learn drumming with your friends. Instruments provided. Rhythms taught from the Caribbean. This class will be taught by Michael Spencer who is a professional drummer and recently received his Master’s in Jazz and Commercial Music from the University of Denver on Drum Kit. He performs around Denver with a many groups.
Equipment will be provided or students may bring their own.
Bike Skills 1st-5th only 3:15 – 4:30
This is a fun and active Enrichment class on wheels! Students of “Bike Skills” will gain confidence and awareness by learning bike-handling skills from the Pros. This class will teach balance, braking, “Rules of the Road,” bike-maintenance and basic 1st Aid. Bike Skills is instructed by members of the Yellow Designs Stunt Team and has been a popular class for all skill-levels of bike-enthusiasts. The owner of Yellow Designs is Brian Gavagan, an East and Bromwell parent and professional BMX & MTB rider. Kids enrolled in Bike Skills will receive one-on-one instruction geared to their individual skill level, with an emphasis on riding safely, riding with confidence and having fun.
The Yellow Designs team is supported by Natural Grocers, Honest Tea and vitaminwater.?A bike and helmet are necessary to participate and a nutritious snack and drink is provided at the beginning of each class. Ages 6+ are welcome.
Participants must know how to ride without training wheels. Private lessons can be scheduled with Yellow Designs for kids struggling with this.
This class will be taught outside. Please dress appropriately.
