Living our Values! What is the value you are focusing on this year and why?
This year, I am focusing on being Imaginative because creativity is a powerful way to inspire learning and growth. In my role as a 1:1 paraprofessional in special education, I often need to find unique and creative approaches that meet the individual needs of each student. Being imaginative helps me turn lessons into fun, meaningful experiences that capture students attention and keep them motivated. I believe that creativity not only makes learning more engaging but also teaches students to think differently, solve problems, and express themselves in their own way. I also see imagination as an important part of my own growth trying new strategies, learning from my colleagues, and embracing fresh ideas that make me a better educator. My goal is to model for students that imagination can open doors to new possibilities, and that with creativity, there are always different ways to succeed.
Bio:
I was born in the United States but raised in Mexico, where I grew up with my parents as the oldest of four siblings. My entire family still lives in Mexico, and at the age of 29 I made the life-changing decision to move to Denver. Before coming here, I worked as a coordinator at one of the largest hospitals in northwest Mexico, a role that challenged me and shaped my professional path. Bromwell became my very first job in the U.S., and I quickly fell in love with this community and the positive, welcoming environment. I am truly happy to be starting my third year as a paraprofessional, a role that has given me the opportunity to grow and connect deeply with students. Working with children has been a completely different and rewarding experience compared to my career as an engineer, and it has inspired me to want to stay here forever! I truly love and enjoy being part of Bromwell.
Hobbies:
Some of my favorite hobbies include traveling, spending time outdoors, and connecting with my family in Mexico. I love designing and creating both digital art and crafts in my free time. I practice softball, and I also really love baseball! I truly enjoy going to games. Exploring new places is something I enjoy, especially discovering restaurants and, most of all, coffee shops, since I am a big coffee lover.
