Bromwell Bulletin

Fall Crawl is next week!

Costumes are optional.  Please check with your homeroom teacher(s) if they are able to wear their costume all day, or if they will be putting it on before the Crawl.  Please do not send Halloween candy with your child(ren) after 10/31.

Weather Reminders

With the change in weather, please send you children with layers and rain jackets as needed.  As snow starts to come, please send snow boots and snow pants.  Please make sure to label your students gear so if it ends up in the Lost and Found, we can get it returned to the correct owner.  We want our Bears to enjoy outdoor recess as much as possible!

Specials Spotlight – Music!

Take a look at Ms. Horton’s website for updates on what your child is doing in music!  Each week the grade level tab will be updated with our Musical “To do list”. Use the list to ask students to demonstrate what they have worked on that week in music.

Friday Snacks

The cafeteria will start selling pre-packaged snacks for $1 after lunch on Fridays.  Students can only purchase them if they have money on their MySchoolBucks account.  Options will be things like a bag of chips or rice krispie treat bars.

Social Emotional Learning – SEL at Bromwell

How’s it going, Mr. Tay here!  This week in the morning announcements we started talking about self-compassion.  Self-compassion is ensuring we are being kind to ourselves even when we have bad moments or don’t do as well on something as we thought we would.  I reminded our bears that sometimes we are our biggest critics and how to process our emotions when having those big emotions.  Linking it back to having a big reaction to a small problem sometimes we all overthink and misread situations that we may be facing.  Below I have the resource I was adding to the morning announcements. I didn’t do all the slides but I will finish up this week with the benefits of self-compassion and hope to start advocating for oneself next week.  Use the link below to have some conversations with your kiddos!
