Important news, updates, and information included in this week’s Bromwell Bulletin!
Calendar Planning:
Dr. Marrero Visits Bromwell!
This past Wednesday, our school was visited this week by our DPS superintendent, Dr. Alex Marrero. He stopped in Mr. Replogle’s 4th grade classroom, where he answered student questions, press conference-style. Dr. Marrero graciously asked their most pressing questions, sharing responses that were considerate and insightful. He talked about his own experiences as a young student and his work as our district’s leader. He mentioned that he considered the students and their families his “bosses!” Dr. Marrero’s visit also included a tour around the building and ground as well as discussion about our small group model, SEAL lessons, and the necessity of PTA raised funds to make sure staffing levels are fully funded. Some photos from the visit are included below.
DPS 2022-2023 School Choice Reminder
DPS School Choice Round 1 opens January 14th! Bears who are moving on to middle school next year, all Kindergarteners (including current ECE students), and any new families who want to join the Bromwell community will need to complete the Choice process. One more virtual school tour is scheduled for 1/13 – please use/share the following link https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85838810214?pwd=WFdnUWZLdnFLN2FBUUNyRXVFamJQdz09
Cold Weather
With snow falling and colder temps, please be sure to send your Bears with appropriate cold weather gear, and please be sure to label jackets, hats, and gloves! Our lost and found is already overflowing again!
Volunteer Updates
As we are doing everything we can to decrease the risk of spreading Covid within our school, we are pausing on allowing volunteers into our school. Library will take a brief hiatus for the next few weeks; so please be sure to keep track of any books your Bear brought home before break. However, recess volunteers are still needed! As staff is needed to cover lunch inside, community volunteers are needed to ensure safety outside on the playground. Links to sign up are included below in “Weekly To-Do’s” (please note these are new links for Winter/Spring)!
Summer Camp with Mr. J!
Our very own Mr. Johnson (3rd Grade) runs a wonderful summer camp each summer and is enrolling campers now! There will be three, two week long sessions. Students from 1st-5th grade are welcome to sign-up and attend. The camp will be theme based with a variety of themes including space, underwater adventures, and of course Harry Potter. Check it out at https://www.funfactorycamp.com/
