Basketball is coming back for the Spring, with some exciting changes!
– The league will now consist of a 2nd/3rd grade team(s), and 4th/5th grade team(s).
– We need coaches! We have interest but no one available to coach. The wonderful volunteers we had for the Fall season aren’t available for the Spring.
– All games will be on Thursdays, with practices determined by coaches.
– The following schools are participating this Spring: Smith, Teller, Dora Moore, Isabella Bird and Park Hill.

DPS offers cognitive ability testing, the CogAT, for all 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders each year (during the fall and during the spring) to determine magnet eligibility status. Test results may also be used as part of a body of evidence for Highly Gifted and Talented identification.
If your child is already magnet eligible, there is no need for him or her to take the CogAT test. If you have any questions regarding your child’s magnet eligibility status, please feel free to reach out to me. Also, if your child has already taken the CogAT this year, they will not be able to sign up for the spring session, as DPS will only administer one cognitive ability test per year for each student. For more information on the CogAT, please see the attached information regarding the test. If you would like to have your child participate in this optional testing, please go to the following link and register your child by February 23, 2024.

February 16th, 19th and 20th – No School: Teachers have planning and data dig days, and the school will be closed in observance of President’s Day
Thursday 2/22 – 2nd Annual 5th Grade Dance: Our 5th graders decided to bring back the Black and White Ball for a grade-level celebration!
Thursday 2/22 @ 6:30pm – Annual State of Den: Login virtually to hear updates about Bromwell and plans for the 24/25 school year.
February 19th – 22nd – Dine Out Week at Cherry Cricket!: Cherry Cricket is doing a dine out for Bromwell all week with 15% of sales coming back to Bromwell. Tell your friends and family about it!
