Bromwell Bulletin
Specials Spotlight – PE!
The Bromwell Gym has been very alive the past few weeks. 3rd-5th focused on what makes a game fun, and making our own game! We built tag games from scratch and changed the rules to 4 square to see if we could make it more fun. The younger grades were getting moving in a variety of ways and focused on developing our rolling and catching skills. Ask your student about their favorite game they played in P.E.
Social Emotional Learning – SEL at Bromwell
Hey all Mr. Tay! This week we continued with our growth mindset vs. fixed mindset lessons and started to get into self-talk for our older friends. Showing and modeling what positive self-talk from some videos and also connecting how that positive self-talk can change our mindset when facing a big problem or struggle. Next week we will finish talking about positive self-talk and learn about affirmations. Hope y’all have an amazing break and as always if you have any questions please let me know. Here is a website that talks more about self-talk as well.
The health office could use your support!
If you have clothing for Kindergarten – 5th grade ready to pass along, please donate them to the health office. You can drop them off in the front office. It is much easier to have back up options so a student can stay in class rather than calling an adult to bring something in. Thank you!
The Your Voice/Tu Voz Family Survey is open now through Nov. 1! This survey focuses on measuring outcomes across the district and its learnings directly impact students and families.
Families can access the survey link here. Make an impact by taking the DPS Your Voice/Tu Voz family survey.

Shop at Modern Family and 5% comes back to Bromwell!
Modern Bungalow, a Bromwell Family owned business, will donate 5% of any purchase to Bromwell Elementary. Yes, both online (modernbungalow.com) or in store (1028 S. Gaylord st. Denver 80218). Just put a note or say “Bromwell” at time of purchase. Anytime between now and the end of the year.
Get a new roof from Formula Roofing and they’ll donate to Bromwell PTA!
We’ve partnered with Formula Roofing (shout-out to Nick Dillen, their Operations Manager, and Bromwell dad of two!), who is generously donating $500 per roof back to Bromwell PTA — and they’ve already given us $6500 this year! If we can send them an additional 5 families that need new roofs before the end of 2024, they’ll donate a bonus $1,000, potentially bringing this year’s total to $10,000!! Just contact Formula Roofing and mention ‘Bromwell’. Share with local friends and family! And see a fun picture of the Formula Roofing team with the Bromwell Bear and PTA board members attached and HERE. 🙂

Ongoing Reminders
Students cannot be dropped off at school until after 7:30am, and must be picked up no later than 2:50pm unless you have signed up for Discovery Link.
Breakfast ends at 7:50am so the kitchen can prepare for lunch. If you would like your Bear to take advantage of free breakfast, please drop them off prior to 7:50am.
Looking for something to do during your lunch break? Come volunteer during our lunch/recess times! When you arrive, check in at the front office, grab an orange vest, and then make the rounds in the lunchroom to help kids open things, stay focused on eating (save the sillies for outside!). Outside, you might get asked to push a kid on a swing, referee a game, or have an existential conversation. Here are the times:
ECE & Kinder: 10:45 – 11:35
First & Second: 11:10 – 11:55
Fourth: 11:30 – 12:15
Third & Fifth: 11:40 – 12:35
The library could use some maintenance support!
While the school has taken back the library, they could use some help with checking in books, shelving and dusting. Check your calendars to see if you have some time and sign up HERE
Library Updates for the 24/25 School Year
This year, our Specials Team (Mrs. M, Mr. Edwards and Ms. Horton) will be taking our Bears to the library each week! The school is excited to provide consistent access to the library for all students. Parents are still welcome to stop by to help kids find books.
