It’s hard to believe tomorrow is September! We look forward to seeing so many of you tonight for our Back to School Event . Just a few reminders for tonight:
Presentations are 5:15 and 5:50, you only need to attend once for each grade.
Children can go to the playground for fun stations – hula hoops, jump rope, basketball, soccer… all the fun! So you can listen to the teachers’ presentations without distractions.
Children will need to have an adult with them to get some pizza starting at 5:30pm. We do have some gluten free coming, and kids can pick from cheese or pepperoni.
**We could still use a few more volunteers to help hand out pizza! You can sign up HERE**
Reminder, no school on Monday in observance of Labor Day.
We have new procedures when dropping off students late, picking them up early, or bringing them something they forgot.
If a student needs support walking to class, a front office member will assist them.
If an item is being dropped off, a front office member will get it to your student.
Please complete our Late Check In Form online to make drop off easier! Need to pick up early? Please complete our Early Checkout Form online. **This does not notify the teacher or office what time the child needs to be picked up, please still email your student’s teacher and Ms. Ieasha**
If you haven’t signed up for Saturday School, please do so HERE. The program is free and will start 9/16/23 – 12/9/23 excluding Saturday 10/14/23 & 11/25/23. The times are from 9am-12 pm, snacks will be provided.
Our Bears love playing sports during recess! Have some old sports equipment laying around like soccer balls, basketballs, tennis balls etc that you wouldn’t miss? Send them to the office, and we will make sure they are put to good use.
CSC Update
The first CSC meeting will be on Tuesday 9/19 from 4-5pm, both in person and virtual.
We are looking for nominations to fill an empty seat. Nominations are due by 9/12 and then we will send out a ballot for the community to vote. Below is guidance from the CSC bylaws. Please complete the Nomination Form HERE.
Member Diversity
The diversity of the school student population should be represented, whenever possible, in the CSC committee membership. Prior to election planning each year, current CSC members will review a snapshot of the Bromwell student body population to ensure each group will be represented for the following calendar year. These statistics should include, but not be limited to:
BIPOC/ non-BIPOC
In-boundary/ out of boundary
English as a second language/ Multi-Language Learners
CSC Representatives (either teachers or parents/guardians) shall provide a voice for for each of Bromwell’s specific instructional programming:
General Education
Special Education
Highly Gifted and Talented
“Representation” will be achieved by electing members that are included within diversity groups, or by members assigned to provide a voice for a specific group(s).
Terms
CSC committee members are elected to a one or two-year term. Members may be elected to no more than three (3) successive terms. Staggered terms may be used to promote continuity.

Kiss & Go Drop Off Reminders
To ensure the safety of our Bears. Kiss & Go drop off is available on 3rd Place on the south side of the school from 7:30-7:50 AM. DO NOT DROP OFF STUDENTS AT THE FRONT ENTRANCE OF THE BUILDING BETWEEN 7:30-7:50 AM. After 8:00 AM, the only entrance to the building will be the Main Office entrance on 4th Street. Students arriving after 8:00 AM will sign-in as tardy at the Main Office. When using Kiss & Go, please follow the following procedures to ensure the school drop off zone is efficient and safe for all families:
Adhere to all school zone traffic rules. Come to a complete stop at the stop signs on 3rd Avenue and at Josephine. Drive slowly and attentively through the School Zone.
Pull as far forward along the curb as possible, even if you are the only one in the line.
Unload students on the passenger/curb side of the vehicle only.
No u-turns are allowed leaving Kiss & Go drop off.
Do not stop to unload on the crosswalk.
If you unload on the south side of the street, make sure your child uses the crosswalk, and instruct them to wait for an orange-vested staff member to cross the street with them.
Remain in your vehicle and allow your Bear to unload themselves.
If your child still requires assistance putting on a coat and backpack, please make it a goal to have them unload independently this year. Even our youngest Bears can unload independently and manage their own coats and backpacks. We love last minute hugs and love too, but independence is one of our goals for our students, and this is a great starting point.
The Kiss & Go zone may appear mostly empty, but drop off traffic comes in waves and can very quickly back up into the Starbucks intersection. Please help us be good neighbors with the Cherry Creek business district by keeping traffic flowing and keeping this intersection clear.
COVID-19 Protocol Reminders
COVID DPS students and staff who test positive for COVID-19 are required to isolate for five days. Day Zero is defined as the day symptoms begin or the day of the positive test.
Isolation may end on Day Five if:
Symptoms have ended or symptoms are improving.
Individuals are fever-free for 24 hours without using fever-reducing medications.
After the five-day isolation has ended and individuals are feeling better, they should wear a high-quality mask — such as a KN95 or N95 — through Day 10. If symptoms are not improving and/or a fever persists past Day Five, isolating until Day 10 is recommended.
Your PTA and its Board is excited for a new school year. Please join us for our first meeting of the year on Wednesday, September 13th at 8:00AM right after drop off in the All Purpose Room (Cafeteria). Remember to join the PTA HERE for voting rights, all meetings are open to the community.
The PTA sends out a monthly newsletter, room parent emails and fundraising communications throughout the year. Complete this FORM if you want to opt-out from PTA communications. You will still receive the weekly Bromwell Bulletin.
