June 17, 2022 Dear Bromwell Families, What a joyful, whirlwind end of the school year! I very much enjoyed the celebrations of the final few weeks of school, sharing memories, victories, and plans for the future. To our outgoing families and staff: you will be missed, but I am filled with hope and anticipation as you move to whatever is next. Please keep in touch. To our returning families, my staff and I are in the process of some exciting developments for the 2022-2023 school year! As you know we have several new staff members joining us this next school year and in addition, I look forward to announcing staff for our kindergarten teacher, visual arts teacher, and for special education teacher in the coming weeks. We are also working on building out music programming for next school year. If you have specific ideas around what you’d like to see our students learn, please reach out to me or Nurse Brooke, a member of the personnel committee. Having three dedicated full-time teachers in specials gives us flexibility in scheduling, reduces transitions that can be difficult for our students, and allows us to provide more targeted music instruction as we work to build a program that we can all be proud of. Along the planning lines, I’m happy to share the attached school specific calendar which includes a few extra teacher work days for our staff to dig deep into your student’s academic and emotional progress so that they can provide the most tailored education plans possible. These days also provide time for additional parent-teacher conferences. And finally, I am sending my very best wishes to you and your families for a restful, rejuvenating summer. This school year was full of challenges and successes for all. I can’t wait to build upon those experiences in the coming school year. Valecia von Weise, Principal Bromwell Elementary |
