Dear Bromwell Families,

Two months of our school year have already flown by! I hope your student(s) and your family are feeling settled into our general routine, with the knowledge that there are also always exciting things happening at Bromwell. For example, as you read in our Bulletin, last week we elected our Student Council Officers AND our Bromwell basketball team started playing other elementary schools around DPS.  And tomorrow we are excited to see all of our Bears parade around the neighborhood for our Fall Crawl! I hope to see lots of you along the route as well cheering them on.

Speaking of cheering on our Bears, it was great to meet so many parents and guardians at our Parent Teacher Conferences last week. I know I very much enjoy gaining perspective and information about my boys during their conferences, and I’m sure you feel the same. I also know our teachers have worked very hard to understand your student’s strengths, passions, and growth areas over the last few weeks.  I hope you learned something about your student and have a good understanding on what is in store for their personal and academic growth this year.  This growth however, is not possible without your support.  Research study after research study has shown parental and guardian involvement in children leads to higher academic outcomes, happier kids, and more successful schools all around.  Your partnership is one of the fundamental elements of Bromwell, one that sets us apart from other elementary schools in Denver.  Bromwell Families, like their students, are ALL IN.

Without your involvement and investment of time, talent, and money, our school wouldn’t function as well as it does.  Part of this effort is our Annual Fund, launched last week.  Our PTA grants $200,000 to Bromwell, which constitutes over 8% of Bromwell’s budget.  Our Annual Fund, All In for Bromwell, is a huge part of this effort, and each family is asked to contribute an amount that is meaningful to them.  As part of our student’s involvement with the effort, they will be exploring what it means to be All In- All In for Self, for Community, and for Bromwell.  Starting next week they can bring in their spare change to contribute to the effort.   Your donation doesn’t have to wait until then, though. You can donate at this link.

Thank you again for your support of your student, and all of the students at Bromwell. We look forward to more exciting events like tomorrow’s Fall Crawl, Middle School Info Night this Thursday if interested, and Thanksgiving Lunch on November 15th!

My best,

Valecia von Weise, Principal
