Bromwell Families,

This year, we are adopting a proactive approach to attendance to ensure all students arrive on time, stay for the full school day, and are picked up promptly. Attendance is a shared responsibility, and as a school community, we can collectively support every child’s success.

Establishing strong routines at home and school is essential for our youngest bears. When students arrive on time, remain throughout the day, and are picked up promptly, they fully benefit from everything Bromwell has to offer:

  • Routines: At Bromwell, we believe consistent daily routines reduce stress and create a safe environment where all students feel valued. On-time arrival sets a positive tone, while staying through dismissal allows students to engage deeply in both learning and social activities.
  • Engagement: Being present all day enables students to build meaningful relationships with peers, teachers, and staff—fostering respect, kindness, and trust. These connections encourage confidence and active participation, reflecting Bromwell’s commitment to an inclusive environment where every student thrives.
  • Access to Resources: Bromwell provides essential resources, including nutritious meals, health services, and enriching activities such as gym, art, music, and recess. These offerings support the academic and social-emotional needs of all students.
  • Learning: Regular attendance is vital for active learning, allowing students to apply skills in reading, math, and more. At Bromwell, we aim for excellence by addressing the academic and social-emotional needs of every student, preparing them for lifelong success in a safe and respectful environment.

Prioritizing on-time arrival is how Bromwell families can promote strong attendance, along with students staying the entire day, ensuring timely pick-up, communicating challenges that may affect attendance, and monitoring their child’s attendance data. While some absences due to illness are unavoidable, we encourage sending your child to school whenever possible. Our goal is for students to miss no more than 1-2 days per month to benefit both their learning and our community. For guidance on when to keep your child home, please visit the DPS Attendance webpage.

If your child will be absent, please notify us by calling the front office at 720-424-9380.

We care deeply about each one of our bears and look forward to seeing them arrive on time, stay engaged all day, and leave safely at dismissal.  🐻

Sincerely,
Valecia von Weise
